Conference 2008

11 - 17 July 2008

With only one month until conference, planning is progressing smoothly and we are looking forward to welcoming guild members, tutors and merchants from around New Zealand and beyond to sunny (hopefully!) Hawke's Bay.

Attendance numbers are very pleasing with approximately 435 members registering for conference and workshops.

Entries close soon for the Exhibition and we look forward to an abundance of entries for the various categories being offered.  The New Zealand Embroiderers' Guilds' Exhibition is being held in the Hawke's Bay Exhibition Centre, 201 Eastbourne Street East, Hastings from Saturday 12 July until the end of August.

Members of the public visiting or residing in the Hawke's Bay region are very welcome to visit the Merchants' Mall which will be situated in the gymnasium at Lindisfarne College and will be open on 12 and 13 July.  A small fee will be charged to visit the 24 stalls which will have an array of books and materials for embroidery and related crafts for sale.

A warm welcome awaits you at Conference 2008.

Transport

When arriving in Hawke’s Bay airport we will have members there to welcome you and assist you to waiting shuttle buses.

As Lindisfarne College is within easy reach of a large number of motels, it is not our intention to provide local transport.  We know from past conferences that attendees with cars are very willing to assist those who have travelled some distance and do not have transport and we are sure this will happen in Hawke’s Bay.

PS

We have chosen exhibition titles which allow for a wide variety of styles and techniques – have ago!!
