As usual we have had an active year. The Guild workshops have continued with better participation from members this year. We have had workshops on 'Exploring Stitches', whitework, crewel work, filet darning, cutwork, ' Cottage Gardens ', and Shisha mirror embroidery.
Our Guild day 'petite' projects have been delightful and well supported. These are small projects, capable of being finished on the day or with very little work afterwards. They have served to introduce new techniques, and then to be followed by a workshop.
Our night group 'Ladies of the Night'continues to flourish.
This year we were able to offer a scholarship for one member to attend Kerikeri Great Escape, the only criterion being that the recipient had never attended before. This year's recipient enjoyed it so much, that she went on to attend the ANZEG Conference and participate in workshops there.
Sadly we lost one of our members in December, Ellen Jo hnstone, who bore her final illness with much courage and fortitude.
